Things to Know Before Your First Waxing

No Shaving

Whether due to pride or uncertainty, many women make the mistake of showing up to their first waxing with trimmed hair. Hair should be at least ¼ inch long for waxing to be effective.

Brazilian or Bikini?

While a basic bikini wax removes hair from the sides of the bikini area, a Brazilian wax eliminates hair from front to back. When to Shower

While all areas to be waxed should be clean, avoid taking a hot shower or bath immediately before and after your waxing appointment. Hair that is wet and softened is more difficult to remove.

Avoid Complications

Topical exfoliants, oral acne treatments and blood thinners may increase sensitivity and result in skin irritation and additional complications. Verify with your doctor to ensure that waxing procedures do not interfere with any medications you’ve been prescribed.

A Short Break From Your Workout Routine

Avoid heavy exercise or any other activity that induces heavy perspiration for 24 to 48 hours following your waxing treatment to avoid chafed skin.
